Zinke joins growing list of top-tier speakers at Montana’s leading energy conference
Senator Steve Daines today announced that Montana’s sole Congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives, Ryan Zinke, will be featured as a keynote speaker at Montana Energy 2016.
“I’m excited to welcome Representative Zinke to the growing list of exceptional leaders from across Montana and the country who will be joining us for Montana Energy 2016 to continue the conversation about Montana’s energy future,” Daines stated. “Representative Zinke has been a great partner to have on Capitol Hill in the fight against overreaching regulations on Montana’s energy production and I look forward to his insight.”
"Montana Energy 2016 is about power: both powering our economy with good paying jobs and affordable electricity, and powering our national security," said Zinke. "Between coal, oil, gas and others, Montana has a massive energy play. We can power America for a hundred years on just our coal; but we can also export our energy as a means of diplomacy to help our allies and check our adversaries. Montana has a big part to play in America's energy future, I'm looking forward to discussing that at Montana Energy 2016."
Montana Energy 2016 will be held in Billings on March 29-31 and will serve as the largest avenue to discuss Montana’s energy potential. It is back for its third round this spring with a fresh new look and perspective. Led by Daines, the comprehensive conference will continue the discussion around state and national energy opportunities and provide an all-encompassing look at Montana’s energy potential.
Representative Ryan Zinke serves the people of Montana as their sole Representative in the United States House. Ryan is a fifth generation Montanan, former state senator and a 23-year U.S. Navy SEAL veteran. In 2014 Ryan became the first Navy SEAL elected to the House. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Natural Resources.
Sponsors of the conference include Daines, BNSF Railway, MDU Resources, Cloud Peak Energy, First Interstate Bank, NorthWestern Energy, the Montana Contractors Association, the Montana Coal Council, the Montana Petroleum Association, the Montana Chamber Foundation and KLJ.
